Man charged and facing court following death of pensioner

A driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and other offences following the death of a pensioner on the A6 in Stockport.

Robert Palmer, 77, died following the incident on Buxton Road on Thursday, 9 November.

Tom Ferguson, 29, of no fixed address, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving; causing death while disqualified; causing death while uninsured; and failing to stop at the scene.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court today (Saturday, 12 November).
