Stockport-based Charlotte Smee has raised hundreds of pounds for charity after completing a half marathon.

Charlotte raised £420 for Alzheimer's Society by completing the Cardiff Half run. In the preceding months, she trained extensively, and competed in other charitable events such as Cancer Research's race4life.

Alzheimer's Society is a collective of carers, trusted experts, campaigners, researchers, clinicians and people with dementia.

The aim of the society is to increase dementia diagnosis rates, and make accessing support easier.

Charlotte is based in Stockport as a regional merchandiser at Swansway Motor Group, after securing a promotion from a previous role in Bolton.

She said of her new role: "I love it - the chance to see other sites within the business, make more connections and take on some extra responsibility has been a brilliant experience. It's taken some adapting to but it's very enjoyable."
