Stockport is looking particularly picturesque today (Tuesday 16 January) after a large overnight snowfall across the borough.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the region, which will last until 23.59pm tonight.
The forecast anticipates further snow showers which "are likely to cause further disruption".
This disruption could include power cuts, possible delays or cancellations with public transport, a chance of injuries from slips and falls, and a risk of more rural communities in the borough being cut off.

For those feeling safe enough to venture out, the borough is looking rather resplendent.
The borough's numerous Victorian Gothic church towers are flecked with white, with gargoyles and embellishments wearing little blankets of snow.
The air is clear and sharp, the landscapes bright with roads and rooftops shining white.
And, snowball-makers be advised, this is high-quality snow!
