The Rising Sun pub in Hazel Grove has re-opened following a stylish new refurbishment.

The pub - famous among Stopfordians as the final stop on the Wellington Road pub crawl - now boasts an overhauled interior, replete with new paintwork, decor, fittings, Stockport-themed artwork, and much more.

Based at the corner of Buxton Road, the pub had been closed since 12 March for refurbishment.

It re-opened with a special ceremony on Friday 22 March, after artists had been hard at work redecorating.

Not only has the pub had a refit indoors, but it has also had a dramatic makeover outside. A Lowry-inspired artwork makeover, to be precise.

The pub's exterior now features paintings of iconic Stockport landmarks, from Market Hall to the Viaduct, replete with matchstalk men (and matchstalk cats and dogs, if you will).

You can find The Rising Sun on Buxton Road, SK7 6AD.
