Flood warnings and alerts are still in place for some areas of Stockport borough.

Affected areas include the River Mersey catchment area, and the 'Middle Mersey' area - that includes parts of Bramhall.

As of 11.58 on Monday 6 January, the map below shows areas in red and yellow.

Red areas come under a 'flood warning' - this means that flooding is expected.

Yellow areas come under a 'flood alert' - this means that flooding is possible.

The red flood warning has been issued "as a precaution due to damage to an embankment associated with the River Mersey Didsbury flood basin", the Environment Agency has said.

Those who live in red areas are advised to 'act now'. The Environment Agency recommends turning off electricity and gas, moving loved ones and valuables to a safe place (higher ground if possible), and to put flood protection equipment in place if you have it.

Those in yellow areas are advised to make sure any important documents and medications are safe, and to avoid walking, cycling or driving through any flood water.
