Four people have been charged in relation to the Dovestones fire which left large swathes of Greater Manchester covered in smoke.

The four have all been charged with 'arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered'.

They are due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrate's Court on 25 February 2027.

The fire started on 11 July, sending smoke billowing over Manchester and requiring a major firefighting presence.

It wasn't until 3 August that Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue service were safely able to stand down the major incident.

The four people and their charges are as follows:

• Tyler Warburton (26/01/2008) has been charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
• Toby Wilde (06/04/2008) has been charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered, possession of class B (cannabis).
• Jake Eyre (16/08/2007) has been charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered, possession of class B (cannabis).
• Lyreec Bryan-Gavin (11/02/2004) has been charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
