Council to issue family support vouchers to help with cost of living
Stockport Council is once again offering support vouchers to eligible families, to help with the cost of living.
The vouchers can help families to pay energy bills, utilities such as water, and other household essentials such as hygiene products and school uniforms.
Families are eligible if they are receiving council tax support / housing benefit, and if they are receiving free school meals.
Vouchers will reach eligible residents by 1 August. If you think you are eligible but haven't received a voucher by then, the council advises visiting this page.
Vouchers do have an expiry date so residents should make sure they use them before they miss out.
Councillor Jilly Julian, cabinet member for finance and resources at Stockport Council, said: "The Family Support Vouchers are important in helping local families with current cost-of-living pressures.
"The financial support is there to help over the summer period and can be used to cover the costs of several items."
