Bramall Hall awarded £1m in government arts funding
By Alasdair Perry 16th Apr 2026
Bramall Hall will receive £1,000,000 in government arts funding.
It's part of the Arts Everywhere Fund, which is designed to support cultural centres across the UK.
The Hall is one of 130 venues across the country to receive part of a £127.8m share of the Arts Everywhere Fund.
The funding package as a whole will support things like building upgrades, new technology, and improved access to facilities.
Other cultural locations which have received funding are The Lowry in Salford and the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Sir Nicholas Serota, chair of Arts Council England, said: "Arts organisations, museums and libraries are the beating heart of our communities.
"After significant financial pressures in recent years, this vital investment will help organisations to secure futures where they thrive and not just survive.
"We look forward to seeing these cultural spaces flourish as they continue to provide access to excellent art and culture for everyone, everywhere, for many years to come."
Bramall Hall is currently undergoing extensive roof repairs.
The Grade I listed structure remains open to visitors, but is currently covered in scaffolding while workers from Restoration Projects carry out essential repairs to future-proof the building.
The focus of the works is to restore the roof to make it more waterproof, and therefore better able to preserve the treasures within the hall itself.
