‘Alas, we are discover’d’ - where to find fireworks events over the next few days

Any Stockport residents interested in celebrating bonfire night (anti-Parliamentarian or otherwise) can find a wealth of displays taking place on and around 5 November. 

Below is a handful of some of the events taking place across the borough:

Firework and Music Festival | Stockport Rugby Club | Fri 3 November | 5pm

This event takes place in Bramhall at Stockport Rugby Club, and boasts no less than two fireworks displays (one for children at 7.15pm, and a 'main' display at 8.30pm. 

There is also a bar, food court, fun fair, fire dancers, and even a stage with live music.

Fireworks Bonfire and Fair | Stockport Cricket Club (Cale Green) | Sat 4 November | 5.30pm

This fair features bonfire lighting at 7pm and a fireworks display at 8pm. Tickets are bought at the gate, with rates of £7 for adults and £3 for children. 

Scouts Bonfire and Fireworks Display | Heald Green Methodist Church (outside) | Sat 4 November | 7pm

Gates for this event open at 7pm, with a bonfire lit at 7.30pm and fireworks from 8pm. Food and drink is available throughout the evening.

Tickets are bought at the gate, with rates of £7 for adults and £3 for children, or £20 for two adults and three children (plus some snacks!). 

Fireworks Display | Bredbury Cricket Club | Sat 4 November | 6pm

As well as the main display, this event boasts fairground rides, food vendors, a DJ set, and outdoor bars. 

Marple Bonfire | Brabyns Park | Sat 4 November 

A description for this event reads: "The Brabyns Bonfire has been a fixture in the Marple calendar for over 50 years, and this is actually our 51st bonfire, which we're incredibly proud of! 

"A lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone to making the bonfire a wonderful community event, with too many people to thank for their efforts and dedication over the years.

"The event is run completely by volunteers, with all proceeds going to Scouting and Guiding in Marple, to help give young people opportunities for adventure."
