Plans have been submitted to build two new blocks of terraced houses in Hazel Grove.

Based on a brownfield site off Buxton Road, the plans comprise six new houses - divided into two small terrace blocks of three houses each.

The exact spot is along Wellington Road, close to the Mill Farm riding school.

An existing dwelling on site will be demolished to make way for the new buildings.

Each house would contain three bedrooms. It would also have a garden and parking space for two cars.

With only six houses, the development is not of a scale which would require affordable housing.

The applicant argued that the scheme would address "an acute shortage of supply", and that it "lies within a sustainable location".

The consultation expiry date is 10 July, or 18 July for neighbours.

A decision is due in August.
