Everybody Leisure Centre in Poynton will be hosting a free 'open day' for budding gym-goers.

The open day will run from 8.30am-6pm on 6 April, and will host a huge range of taster sessions for a variety of sports and activities; everything from fitness classes in the new and improved gym, through to yoga, pickleball and swimming technique lessons.

Visitors of all abilities are welcome - for more on Everybody Leisure Poynton's ethos, read our story HERE.

Those who are already members of the Everybody Gym should use the usual online booking portal. However, non-members who are looking to give the open day a try can book HERE.

Please note all gym and group fitness activities are for ages 17 and over only.

Matt Shannon, an Everybody spokesperson, added: "It's suitable for everybody in the community; it's not a daunting gym, more of an inclusive space.

"People who are nervous about joining the gym can think of Poynton's gym as a 'first step' into their fitness journey - it is more of a chilled space, a good place to start."

This welcoming spirit in turn fosters a strong sense of friendliness and community in the gym itself.

Gary Foulkes, another Poynton gym employee, said: "It's a community. Everybody knows somebody - you can walk into the gym and chat to someone. Whereas, the bigger centres perhaps don't have as much of that because they're bigger, busier, and so forth.

"Once people are here, they don't tend to leave and go for another gym."
