Mediaeval Music Day
Chadkirk Chapel, Romiley, Stockport
Music
UNTIL Monday 27th May

Chadkirk Chapel is hosting the mediaeval music duet Archaedium. Archaedium specialises in costumed, historical musical performance for heritage events. They will bring a range of instruments, not only playing these but introducing them to the audience. This is a family-friendly event and children will be able to join in. There will be an introduction to the musical instruments at 1:00 pm, a minstrel school at 2:00 pm and at 3:00 pm there will be a mediaeval chill-out session.
The setlist is 3 x 25 minutes. The first one is a 'meet the instruments' set, where the players introduce each instrument to the audience, explain a little about it and its history and then play a Mediaeval tune. The second set is a family-friendly 'Minstrel School' set, where the musicians hand out classroom percussion and teach the children some rhythms to play along with us, everyone sings a song together, learns a dance, and may finish with a parade. The final set is a 'Mediaeval Chillout' set of beautiful music to send everyone home with a smile on their faces. In addition, there will be a meet and greet by the entrance on pipes and drum.
Admission is free, but we expect this to be a busy day so seats in the chapel will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We'll be selling wine, Prosecco, hot and cold drinks, snacks and cakes – cash only. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The event takes place on 27 May, and runs from 12-4pm.
All funds raised are used for the benefit of Chadkirk Chapel, the walled garden and the country estate.
