County ran riot at home with a remarkable win over rivals Wrexham. 

The Hatters took the lead in the 20th minute, when a fantastic cross from Hinchliffe unleashed Will Collar down the right wing. With Wrexham keeper Howard fixed to his line, Collar passed to Tanto who converted comfortably, making it 1-0. 

The misfortune continued for Wrexham, when a scuffed pass meant for Ben Tozer was intercepted by Tanto, who was again clinical in front of goal. 2-0 within 30 minutes. 

A mere two minutes later, Louie Barry added himself to the score sheet, with his sixth goal in as many games. His incisive run down the left wing culminated in a rocket into the bottom corner of the net, making it 3-0. 

The County party did not stop at the end of the first half. Five minutes into the second half, Tanto secured a hattrick when he put away a header at the Cheadle End, as the ball arced upwards following a Wrexham deflection. 

4-0 down, Wrexham began to pile on the pressure, with a number of attempts at goal which you might cynically describe as desparate. The Red Dragons perhaps came closest with an attempt from Elliot Lee, which bounced off the crossbar. 

With Wrexham unsuccessful at the railway end, Paddy Madden rounded off the day in the 89th minute, finding the end of a Louie Barry cross and making it 5-0. 

"Wrexham have been well and truly hammered this afternoon", the commentators said. 

In his post-match interview, Tanto said: "I think that, after the couple of games that I've had, I'm due a couple of goals. I'm grateful that I'm able to score a hattrick.

Speaking of Louie Barry, Tanto said: "It's been a joy playing up front with him. With us two up front, it's been frightening for defenders. We'll just keep on working on our partnership and scoring more goals, really."

He also cited a strong training week - something which he thinks was instrumental in this victory. 

In his own post-match interview, manager Dave Challinor said: "For us to be able to back up what we've done in the previous two weeks against a really good team - and make a bit of a statement - will reinforce [...] the fact that we've got a really good squad.

"That's a great win to back up what we've done in the previous couple of weeks, and the players should take all the credit for that. 

"We, as coaches, as the management team, try and envisage what the game might look like, and set up with a plan. From our perspective, the game looked exactly like we thought it would.

"I'm happier than I was three weeks ago, and we're certainly looking up in the table. The table looks a whole lot nicer. But, the next one is the most important."
