Stockport was heavy with cheers and blue smoke yesterday (Sunday 28 April) as County's victory parade wound its way through the streets.

Having secured the League Two title, the Hatters celebrated in style, in an open top bus which set off from Stockport Town Hall and finished up at Edgeley Park.

Thousands of fans of all ages lined the streets beneath a lovely warm sun, in what is sure to be seen as a golden moment in the club's history.

After the parade, fans entered the stadium for the players' awards and a trophy lifting.

Some players opted for a little routine - lawnmowers, stretchers, a horse mask, and even a Benny Hill-style chase scene all featured.

And as for player awards:

  • Player of the Season - Ben Hinchliffe | With countless outstanding saves in crucial moments, Hinchliffe was voted POTS by both fans and players.
  • Goal of the Season - Callum Camps | Camps wins goal of the season for his wonder-strike against Forest Green
  • George Hanch Young Player of the Year - Ethan Pye | As County themselves said, "there was only ever going to be one winner" for this award, and that was Pye.
  • Academy Scholars Player of the Year - Luke Partington |Luke Partington picks up this award after an outstanding season.

In a social media post, Stockport County said: "For one last time this season, thank you for your incredible support all year long. We'll see you all in League One."
