Young Stopfordians in Romiley and Bredbury had the chance to tell local councillors what they think would improve the area.
Bredbury Green and Romiley councillors Lisa Smart, Mark Roberts and Angie Clark took suggestions from young people at the Cherry Tree Project.
Councillors can support local projects such as this through a small discretionary budget which was introduced by the Liberal Democrat council to help get funding to local areas.
The Cherry Tree Project is a youth community group that supports young residents throughout the year with regular weekly sessions and holiday activities.
Councillor Lisa Smart said: "We're here to listen to everyone in the community, and these young people are the present and the future of our area.
"It was incredibly fun to work with them and the organisers from the Cherry Tree project, but it's also quite humbling to speak to young people who are so engaged and so passionate about what they want and what they need."
And Councillor Angie Clark added: "These young people spoke so eloquently, movingly and maturely about well-being, the pressures that they face, and their need to be heard. It was a privilege to listen to them; they are my hope for the future."
