Would you like to see land protected or developed? Just a few days left to submit ideas to Stockport Council
Stockport Council is hosting a public consultation, inviting input from residents on land they'd like to see protected or developed.
Residents are invited to identify sites and submit them.
In the council's own words, the sites can be:
- "Sites that you think should be protected – for example, an area of open space that you think should be protected for recreational use, or a business site that you think should be protected to provide local jobs;
or
- "Sites that you think should be promoted for a use that is different from the current use – for example, a site that you think should be developed for housing, business, leisure or another use."
Submissions should ideally be accompanied by a map showing the site boundaries, with as much information as you're able to fill.
They should be submitted by 2 February.
Submit a site and / or find more information here.
The consultation forms part of the work being undertaken to develop a new local plan for Stockport.
If a site is put forward, it does not guarantee it will be allocated for that use.
Rather, an assessment of all sites submitted will be carried out, and the public consultation on the Local Plan will invite comments on proposed allocations.
