Art Battle 2026 | Edgeley Park | Fri 12 June | 7-11pm

(Image - Nub News)

A popular event in the annual Stockport calendar is making a comeback this weekend.

Art Battle - the showdown where a group of artists have to paint a work of art in half an hour - is back on Friday 12 June, this time at Edgeley Park.

The event prides itself on never having repeated a venue in 13 years, and for this iteration the organisers have promised their 'boldest event yet'.

The contest works by pitting artists against the clock (and each other) then inviting visitors to vote on their favourite artwork.

Previous Stockport locations for Art Battle have included Merseyway Car Park and the former Debenhams building.

More than just a painting contest, Art Battle will also feature a 'festival vibe' throughout the night, with DJs, food and drink, and 'plenty of unexpected shenanigans'.

The organisers have described it as more akin to a gig than a fine art show.

Tickets are £18.50 each and can be booked online here.

Join Capture & Calm Walks CIC for a gentle, family friendly Nature Strength Trail starting from Signol Community Centre.

Inspired by The Pig Who… (And That Counts) book series, this session explores the quiet strengths we use every day and the small adjustments we make.

Nature adjusts. We adjust. That counts.

£1 per person or £2 per family.

All money raised goes directly back into supporting our community wellbeing activities.

At the start of the session, collect your trail sheet from Signol Community Centre or choose to receive it electronically.

During the session you can:

  • Follow Olive's Nature Strength Trail around the surrounding green space
  • Pause and notice something different at each stop
  • Take a photo and share it on the public Capture Facebook page
  • Return to Signol for a small strength gift when you complete the trail
  • Capture Women's Reflection Space
  • Running throughout the session inside Signol, there will be a dedicated women only Capture reflection table. Women are welcome to visit at any point during the session.
  • Add a note to The Strength No One Sees community board
  • Share a quiet strength anonymously
  • Take a moment to pause and connect

There will also be thoughtful Father's Day gift stalls, subsidised refreshments, and space to sit and chat.

Children remain the responsibility of their parent or carer at all times.

We look forward to welcoming you to pause, notice and celebrate the small strengths that carry us through
