Much-loved Marple Bridge pub re-opens following transformation

A much-loved pub in Marple Bridge has re-opened following an extensive refurbishment.

The Midland, at 26 Brabyns Brow, closed for four weeks in May to undergo a 'thoughtful' re-imagination.

It has now started welcoming customers again following its makeover, which comprises a restored bar, new seating, a rejuvenated dining room, and an outdoor area for alfresco dining.

The new look aims to 'raise the bar for modern country dining'.

The Midland also has an overhauled menu which aims to celebrate 'the best of British pub dining'.

Think indulgent favourites such as pan-roasted lamb rump, asparagus & squash orzo, and tarragon-battered line-caught haddock with thick-cut chips.

There are also chargrilled steaks - including the 7oz Fillet and 10oz Ribeye steak cooked to perfection and served with rustic thick cut chips, caramelised Roscoff onion, sautéed mushrooms, and parsley butter.

Among the decadent desserts are a home-baked chocolate brownie, Timperley rhubarb & apple crumble, and the classic tiramisu, offering the perfect sweet finale.

Furthermore, if you've got a party in mind, the pub has a new semi-private area with space for up to 14 guests.

There's also an option to cater for larger events of up to 70 people, ideal for celebrating life's big moments such as weddings and christenings.

Commenting on the pub's transformation, general manager Gary Smythe said: "We're delighted to welcome both new and familiar faces to the beautifully refreshed The Midland.

"Sitting at the gateway to the Peak District we want the pub to be your new favourite place in Stockport this summer, whether you're popping in for a drink in the sunshine, or enjoying a hearty Sunday roast after a hike, we've something for all the family."
