Lunar New Year Night Market | St Mary's Church (Stockport town centre) | Friday 10 January | 5-10pm
Catch a top glam rock tribute act at The Spinning Top from 8.30pm to 11.30pm on Saturday 11th January.
A description of this event reads: "Raspberry Glam will be strutting into The Spinning Top with our long hair, outrageous costumes and glitter laden platform boots.
"We'll be taking you back to the 1970s era of Glam Rock with hits from:

Behind Closed Doors (Servants' quarters tour) | Lyme Park | Saturday 11 January | 11am / 1pm
Discover Lyme's house, a stately home to the Legh family for 600 years, on the outskirts of Stockport, in Cheshire.
The tours are available on weekends in January while the house is closed at 11am or 1pm.
Tickets include an hour long private tour with a Lyme expert, and entry to the park and gardens.
Tours are limited to 10 people, booking essential. £12 general admission | £5 National Trust members. National trust members please show your card at admissions.

A Viaduct and Two Rivers (creative writing workshop) | Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery | Sunday 12 January | 1-3pm
A description for this event reads: "Helen Clapcott paints Stockport past, present, future and imagined, all in the same frame, focussing on a square mile in the town centre.
"This open to all two hour workshop takes place in Stockport Art Gallery during Helen's first major retrospective.
"Led by Steve Dearden, we'll use Helen's paintings and drawings as starting points to write through the prism of place, crunching perspectives and time in our writing, whatever form you write in.
"Steve Dearden is the Director of The Writing Squad the North's development scheme for young writers, based in Stockport, though this workshop is open to all ages! A short story writer, he has experience of delivering workshops in a wide range of arts and cultural settings and mentoring writers who have gone on to be published, produced and performed."
