Kick off 2024 with some top Stockport events this weekend!

The Garrick Theatre's much loved Comedy Night will return on Friday. On Saturday, a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band - Creedence Clearwater Revival Revival - will take to The Strines Nightingale for a performance of some classic vintage rock; take me back down where cool water flows, y'all.

On Sunday, Peter Pan will finish its run at Stockport Plaza.

Outside the Box comedy night | The Garrick Theatre | Fri 5 January | 7pm

Outside the Box is hosting a comedy night at the Garrick on 1 December, starring Harriet Dyer, Mark Silcox, Brennan Reece, and MC Sam Harland.

Outside the Box comedians perform in a number of clubs across the UK, with legendary names such as Stephen Merchant, Bill Bailey, Dara O'Briain, Lee Mack, Jimmy Carr, and more all having made appearances for the club. 

This is not the only comedy night at the Garrick, with dates set throughout the year. Each night features four comedians from Outside the Box, including both circuit comics and brand new talent.  

As the club states: "Not only popular for recognisable faces, Outside The Box strives to find the best circuit comics and brand new talent to each and every venue. 

"Every bill is designed specifically for each club and we're proud to be known for having a group of gigs that are not only fun for the audience but also for the comedians who perform."

Doors open at 7pm, with the event set to start at 7.45pm.

Peter Pan | Stockport Plaza | Sun 7 January | 7.30pm

Peter Pan commences its much anticipated run at Stockport Plaza on Friday 8 December, from 7.30pm.

Showings will run from then until 7 January 2024.

A description for this event reads: "Ahoy there Panto lovers! It's time to take flight to join us at The Plaza for Stockport's Swashbuckling Family Pantomime Adventure PETER PAN starring BRIAN CAPRON as the 'oh so evil' Captain Hook!

"With a sensational cast, spectacular costumes and magnificent scenery, this is the affordable family treat that everyone can enjoy this festive season."
