Stockport is set for a whole host of varied events this bank holiday weekend.

The huge Moovin Festival will hit Compstall Farm, featuring the likes of Groove Armada and Craig Charles.

Meanwhile, a similarly massive bike show will take place in St Peter's Square, featuring show bikes, bands, beer, and more.

A steam gala and FarmFest round off the bank holiday weekend, for those looking for a more chilled experience.

Moovin Festival | Whitebottom Farm | Fri 25 - Sun 27 August

Big names, a big field, big energy. 

Moovin Festival takes over Compstall Farm from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 August. Names such as Goldie, Groove Armada and Craig Charles take to the stage for a weekend which is sure to stay long in the memory. 

A description for this event reads: 

“Big names, booming basslines, boutique festival in a bull field. It can only mean one thing: Moovin Festival is back for 2023 and promises to get you dancing to a music lover’s mix of bass, funk, soul, reggae, house and D&B until the cows come home.

Roughley's Bike Show | St Peter's Square | Sun 27 August

Thousands of people are expected to flock to St Peter’s Square on Sunday to see a huge collection of motorcycles from across the country. 

Top show bikes will be on display, but there will also be show cars, live bands, competitions, food, drink, and more. 

There will also be bike builders and engineers on site, so that Stockport motorbike enthusiasts can find advice - or simply a friendly ear - on the subject of all things motorcycling, from repair to riding. 

All money raised goes to helping local charities, both big and small.

Steam Gala at Dragon Miniature Railway | Dragon Miniature Railway | Sun 27 - Mon 28 August | 11am

This is sure to be an excellent event for both old and new steam enthusiasts (Image - pxfuel)

A historic icon will visit the Dragon Miniature Railway in Romiley this weekend, offering a rare chance to get up close with a piece of industrial heritage. 

The Miniature Railway opens at 11am.

There will also be two steam locomotives during the day on service trains.

A description for this event reads: “We have something very special arriving at our little railway on Sunday 27 August and staying with us until bank holiday Monday (28 August). 

“Jack, a very good friend and longtime supporter of our railway will be visiting with his full-size traction engine, ‘Maud Foster’.

“If you’d like to come and see Jack and his beautiful road locomotive, just turn up at the railway over those two days and have a good look at her and a chat with Jack who will answer any questions you have.

FarmFest '23 | Bosden Farm Pub | Sun 27 August | 10am

Plans are well underway for the 5th Bosden Farm Community Group's FarmFest at Bosden Farm Pub & Dining starting at 10am on Sunday 27th August 2023!

Confirmed so far....

  • Over thirty stalls selling a great range of products
  • Live music from 12.00 noon with eight confirmed artists/bands so far.
  • Children's entertainer
  • Bouncy castles
  • Dog show with seven classes
  • Food vendors
  • Attendance from Offerton community fire station with a fire engine
  • Insect / bug show
  • Attendance and heavy bleed training from North West Pre-hospital Critical Care Charity
  • Stall from Marple Men in Sheds
  • Stall and area hosted by Bosden Youth!
  • Games, raffle, and more!
