Stockport is set for a whole host of varied events over the next few days.

Cheadle Festival will bring the atmosphere of a festival to the locale of Cheadle. Meanwhile, Summer events at Lyme Park are perfect for young ones, whilst Sunday's record fair is a must for vinyl lovers.

Cheadle Festival | Abney Park | Fri 21 July - Sun 23 July

A weekend of music, movies, woodland activities, family fun, camping and more is in store at Cheadle Festival from Friday 21 July to Sunday 23 July.

This event at Abney Park, Cheadle, is sure to be a fun weekend for all the family. Gates close on Sunday 23 July at 4pm, whilst the site opens for campers on Friday 21 July. A film will start on Saturday 22 July around sunset, at 9.30pm.

A description for this event reads: "Step into the heart of Cheadle's glorious greenbelt and discover the enchanting Abney Park. This year we're combining our last few years events into a weekend of glamping, camping, and magical moments.

"Enjoy a holiday not so far from home with your family and favourites with chilled vibes and age-friendly fun.

"Watch a movie the comfort of your own tent, or zip it up, sit at the front and go back to your cosy popup after the film."

Summer of Play | Lyme Park | Sat 22 July | 12pm

On Saturday 22 July, Lyme Park will host a series of 'Summer of Play' events, featuring a garden trail, garden games, and a building block trail.

The garden trail will feature a jam-packed trail of spotting sheets, puzzles, and sensory activities, whilst the building block trail will allow visitors to "discover how the house at Lyme has changed over the centuries and have fun building models".

Meanwhile, the garden games will involve 'giant playzones', featuring games such as badminton, swingball, and giant garden games.

Both the garden games and the garden trail will start from 10.30am, whilst the building block trail will begin from 11am.

Stockport Record Fair | Stockport Masonic Guildhall | Sun 23 July | 10am

This Sunday 23 July event is a must for all vinyl lovers, featuring traders selling vinyl records, CDs, books, and more. 

There is catering on site and the bar is also open.  

Entry is £1 per person, or £5 from 9am.

The organisers gave the following description: "We're rammed full with vinyl records, CDs, and associated memorabilia, with some new traders alongside our regulars.  

"You can park at the rear of the venue for £1 in the car park off Brentnall Street. 

"Oh, and there's two convenient cash machines close by, at the petrol station and Co-op."

Elizabethan Dance | Bramall Hall | Sun 23 July | 12pm

Come along to this Elizabethan dance at Bramall Hall and revel in the 80s dance craze - the 1580s, that is! (Image - Marcus Gheeraerts c1580)

Travel back in time with this immersive event at Bramall Hall on Sunday 23 July. Watch the immaculately-researched dancers, or have a go yourself!

A description for this event reads: "The programme will include social dances and demonstration dances as done by the nobility in the period 1580-1610.

"These dances are found in English, French, and Italian manuscripts, and the common types are Bransles, Almaines, Pavans, Galliards, Corantos, and Balletti. The music for these will be played by the Leeds Waits.

"If the weather permits, dancing will take place in the courtyard and there will be opportunity for audience participation in some of the easier dances, for which instructions will be given."

Dance sessions run in the courtyard from 12pm-1.15pm and 2pm-3.15pm.
