Stockport is set for a host of varied events this weekend.

Whether you fancy some live music or a nice family day out, there is something for everyone here.

Woodford Summer Fair | Woodford Community Centre | Saturday 10 June | 11am-4pm

The Summer Fair at Woodford Community Centre is sure to be a grand day out for all the family. 

The event will feature fairground rides, a bouncy castle, live entertainment, a mini garden competition, over 40 local talented makers from the Worker Bee Markets, a bar, food and coffee, and an aeroplane flyover.

Entry is free, with proceedings running from 11am to 4pm.

Live Music - Rattus Inheritus (The Stranglers tribute) with support from Hex Poseur | The Spinning Top | Saturday 10 June | 8pm

Fans of The Stranglers are in for a treat this weekend as Rattus Inheritus - a Stranglers tribute band - play live at the Spinning Top, which describes itself as Stockport's number one intimate music venue.  

A description on the Bandfinder website reads: "Following their incredible performance here in November 2022, Rattus Inheritus return with material in the style of their first 5 albums. Formed by Stranglers fans for Stranglers fans.

"Support tonight comes Hex Poseur, their 4th visit to The Spinning Top. Female garage rock/punk inspired artist from Leicester."

Doors open at 6.30pm, with an 8pm start. Tickets are £7 in advance or £10 on the door.

Open Farm Sunday | Woodbank Community Food Hub | Sunday 11 June | 10am-4pm

There is something for all the family to enjoy at the Woodbank Community Food Hub for this Open Farm Sunday event. 

The event will feature food, treasure hunts, wildlife finding, gardening, even a Ready Steady Cook style competition between local chefs.

A description for the event reads: "Celebrate the summer with us as we open up our site to the public for a day of activities, workshops, tours, and stalls!

"Here at Woodbank Community Food Hub we have been celebrating open farm Sunday for a few years now and it's always been a massive hit!

"We'll also be welcoming the lovely Stockport Beekeepers, as well as stalls from our fantastic community gardeners, our Farmstart trainees, Veg Box people, and lots of additional fun and games.

"Oh, and did we mention our cob-pizza oven will be fired up, slinging out pizzas between 12 and 2!"

Entry is free, and proceedings run from 10am-4pm.

Brinnington community walk | Hollow End Towers | Monday 12 June | 10.30am

Walkers of all abilities are welcome to join on this weekly walk!

According to a description on the Stockport Council website: "Come rain or shine, Brinnington residents will be out for a walk in Reddish Vale every Monday morning, except Bank Holidays.

"They start from Hollow End Towers at 10:30am and finish at Brinnington Park Leisure Complex for refreshments."

"Everyone is welcome. Just turn up, no need to book!"

Open mic night | Blossoms | Wednesday 14 June | 8pm

Calling all Stockport music lovers!

The Blossoms pub holds an open mic night every Wednesday, hosted by Keith Roberts.

Grab your instruments, or simply head down for a drink and a boogie and enjoy the local music scene.

Perhaps you'll witness the formation of the next Blossoms - themselves named after forming at the pub - or perhaps you'll meet some bandmates and start a famous group yourself!
