A young man who tried to evade detection when coming home after hours was caught by the family's Ring camera - crawling on the floor.

The man, 20, who wishes to remain anonymous, came back to the family home after a night at the pub with friends.

He was told to be home around midnight because he was meant to be joining his father at work from 7am.

However, the night got away from him and he ended up back at a friend's house after the pub closed and arrived home at 3:48am on July 20.

A funny video shows him crawling on the ground in the hopes that the camera wouldn't see him.

The young man, who lives with his two siblings and parents in Stockport, said: "Things just got carried away on the night.

"I was expecting to go home for 12 after closing time at the pub.

"But a mate of mine was having a few friends back at his and I just couldn't say no."

The young man didn't make it to his dad's work the next day and instead became the laughing stock of the family group chat.

He said: "I'm pretty sure my dad will have opened the door of my bedroom, smelled the beer and just left me to it.

"My mum then posted a screenshot of me crawling saying we'd had an attempted burglary.

"I knew she was joking and once we spoke she was able to see the humour in the situation."
