By Nub News guest writer 9th Mar 2026
A shopfront in Reddish has been left boarded up after a van crashed into it on Sunday evening (8 March).
The major collision took place on Reddish Road around 9pm, with a white transit van crossing the pavement and smashing into the shop window of Styled by Melissa, Manchester Evening News reports.
Emergency services were quickly called to the scene and the area was taped off, temporarily blocking Reddish Road.
A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Shortly after 9.05pm on Sunday 8 March, three fire engines from Gorton, Whitehill and Stockport fire stations were called to attend a road traffic collision involving a van and a commercial building on Reddish Road, Stockport.
"Crews arrived quickly, made the vehicle safe and supported colleagues from Greater Manchester Police before departing after approximately half an hour at the scene."
As of Monday morning (9 March), the scene has been cleared but the Styled by Melissa business remains closed and boarded up.
