Police are appealing for information after a mosque in Edgeley was damaged.

CCTV footage from the early hours of 4 September shows two people with hoods and face coverings throwing bricks at the Elaf Mosque on Stockport Road.

Police have met with representatives from the mosque, and have spoken with local residents to help trace the offenders.

Chief Inspector Clare Ryle said: "Two people with hoods/face coverings can be seen throwing bricks at the building at around 02:52am on 4 September with a number of windows being damaged.

"We have also conducted house-to-house enquiries in the area and will have officers in the area as we try to identify these offenders.

"Anyone with information about the incident or the individuals involved should contact us quoting log 1036-4/9/25."
