Tribute to Strawberry Studios at Stockport Plaza to feature Peter Hook, Clint Boon and more

Stockport Plaza will be hosting a tribute concert celebrating the music recorded at Strawberry Studios, featuring some special guests.
The 'Strawberry Studios Forever' show will feature appearances from Peter Hook, Clint Book and Andy Couzens.
Visitors can expect to hear songs from 10cc, Joy Division, New Order, The Smiths, Buzzcocks, The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets, The Charlatans and more.
There will also be a changing lineup of top local musicians throughout the night to play the songs, including The Lottery Winners who will be playing singles from The Smiths.
The concert will also coincide with the launch of a special vinyl album which features music from famous artists who worked at Strawberry Studios, played by talented musicians from the Manchester scene.

The concert has been organised by John Barratt from The Stockport Music Story, to celebrate the music produced here in Stockport. It will also feature special guests Peter Tattersall, the founder of Strawberry Studios and Peter Wadsworth, the curator of the Strawberry Studios' archive.
"The legacy of Strawberry Studios is so important not just locally but internationally," John said. "When Peter Tattersall opened 'Inter-City Studios' above Nield & Hardy music store on Great Underbank, he started a chain reaction that led to some of the most groundbreaking music being made right here in Stockport.
"Without Strawberry, there would've been no 10cc who literally formed in the studio at 3 Waterloo Road. Peter also facilitated so many legendary Manchester bands to record their early music at Strawberry including Joy Division, New Order and The Smiths. By creating a world-class studio, Peter helped to put Stockport in the global musical spotlight."
The Strawberry Studios Forever show takes place on Monday 31 March from 7.30pm - there are still a handful of tickets available.
