Trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport face disruption this morning (9 April) due to overrunning engineering works (Image - Nub News)

Trains running between Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly are facing disruption this morning due to overrunning engineering works.

Services are expected to be delayed or cancelled, with disruption expected until around 8.15am this morning (Thursday 9 April).

National Rail said as of 8am that trains are just now starting to return to normal.

Departures between the stations on the Trainline app are still showing delays as of 8am.

National Rail has advised passengers check before they travel.
