A Bramhall care home is opening its doors to help combat loneliness in the community this festive season.
Ladybrook Manor will host a 'Festive Friendship Café', inviting non-residents to join current residents and team members for games, entertainment, tea and cakes.
The event will take place at the Dairyground Road care home on 12 December from 2pm.
It comes as part of the 'Care to Share' initiative, launched by Care UK, which owns Ladybrook Manor.
The aim, according to a Care UK spokesperson, is "to give older members of the community a safe and sociable space where they can enjoy some festive fun and good company – whether it's singing along to Christmas carols or watching a Christmas movie with a mince pie."
John Harrison, Director of Community Relations said: "Our regular Friendship Café is always incredibly popular with members of the community – providing a wonderful opportunity to have a natter and make some friends and, this month, we're putting a festive spin on things.
"We're thrilled to be part of the Care to Share initiative this December, which will give us the chance to support older people in the community, help encourage new friendships, and ensure everyone enjoys some festive treats too.
"The team and residents here at Ladybrook Manor are looking forward to sharing their Christmas cheer as we open the doors for some festive fun!"
