Timetable changes for some Northern Rail services next month

On June 2, timetable changes for Northern rail services will come into effect.
Whilst the rail operator emphasises that the majority of trains will remain unaffected, we can expect a few changes in Stockport borough.
One of the main changes is an increased service for Heaton Chapel on Sundays - trains from Manchester to Buxton will now call on an hourly basis at the station.
The same goes for Levenshulme, just outside the borough boundaries.
More generally, the operator said: "Most services will run at the same level as they do in the current December 23 timetable with some slight re-timings in places."
Matt Rice, the new chief operating officer at Northern, said: "We're all set for the new timetable next month. The vast majority of services are unaffected by the change, but there are a small number of services that have been re-timed.
"Customers should use the 'check my timetable' tool on the website to see the changes that affect their local station."
Please note that the 'check my timetable' tool is - at the time of writing - closed for maintenance.
If you're planning a journey next month, though, timetable changes are now accounted for in the journey planner, which you can check HERE.
