Sunday 26 May will see the welcome return of Manchester's famous 10k run.

People from across the Greater Manchester region and beyond will be taking part, including some Stockport locals who will be raising money for the Stockport NHS charity as they do so.

This includes staff at Stepping Hill Hospital, as well as other residents who have either received care or just want to raise some money for this worthy cause.

The Stockport NHS Charity helps support NHS projects at Stepping Hill Hospital, and other care centres across the borough.

One of the runners is Dr Nidhi Kakkar, who has been working as a junior medical fellow doctor at Stepping Hill Hospital for just over a year. Dr Kakkar is a veteran runner, but this is her first time running for Stockport NHS.

Also running is Steve Grace, to say thanks to the NHS for the care he was given by emergency teams when he injured his back, and also to thank the maternity department for their support of his daughter Beth when she was born in 2008.
