Three new Merseyway shopping centre store openings to be announced soon
Merseyway shopping centre is set to welcome three new tenants in 2025.
Details of the three new stores will be announced early in the new year, a Merseyway spokesperson said.
They will be moving in to the shopping area throughout next year.
It comes as the centre reflected on a 'highly successful' year.
The shopping centre has seen four new major shop openings in Eyehut, Poundland, JD, and Tesco. A further 13 tenants have extended their leases, including OFFICE, The Perfume Shop, Pandora, HMV and Beaverbrooks.
And, what's more, bookings for the Pop Up shop in the centre itself increased by 23 percent this year, compared to 2023.
Also opening in 2025 is Stockroom, the new library and events space in Stockport town centre.
Cllr Colin MacAlister, Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration at Stockport Council, said: "Merseyway exemplifies what's possible with the right mix of investment and vision, and demonstrates how shopping centres can evolve beyond traditional retail and become hubs for creativity and innovation. [...]
"The continued attraction of nationally renowned retailers, even during challenging economic times, speaks volumes about Stockport's positive momentum."
Victoria Nichol, Merseyway Centre Manager said: "This year has been a resounding success for Merseyway.
"The support from both tenants and visitors has been fantastic, and we are proud to play a central role in Stockport's regeneration.
"With new tenants, exciting events, and transformational projects including Stockroom, we are looking forward to an even bigger and better year ahead."
