Three men charged following the death of Dean Barnes in 2023

Three men have been charged in relation to the death of Dean Barnes in January 2023.

It follows a 'long and complex' investigation, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) report.

The men will appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on Thursday 2 January 2025.

The charges are as follows:

  • Adam Norman (36) from Brinnington has been charged with burglary, causing death by dangerous driving, and causing death by driving while uninsured and disqualified.
  • Alex Riley (20) from Brinnington has been charged with burglary and dangerous driving.
  • Callum Duncan (28) from Reddish has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

A GMP spokesperson added: "If you have been affected by this case, we will have additional officers in the community over the coming days. Please speak to them if you have any concerns.

"Alternatively, support is available through our partners. If you have concerns about the safety of children and young people in the Stockport area, the multi-agency safeguarding and support hub can be contacted on 0161 217 6028."
