Third series confirmed for Stockport-based sitcom Daddy Issues
By Alasdair Perry 3rd Jun 2026
The popular Stockport-based BBC sitcom Daddy Issues is returning for a third series.
The comedy, starring Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey, follows young single mum Gemma as she navigates parenthood.
Series three and its Stockport backdrop will be returning to screens in September 2026.
It's currently in production, with the story set to follow on from Gemma (Aimee Lou Wood) and her dad Malcolm (David Morrissey) moving in together to look after Gemma's baby Sadie.
It comes after a critically-acclaimed second season: Sarah Dempster at The Guardian praised the show at the time for its "sublime one-liners, acerbic wit, daftness, love and joy", and awarded it a five-star rating.
Hello magazine's Nicky Morris similarly said: "The easy chemistry between Wood and Morrissey is what makes this heartwarming comedy so lovable.
"The award-winning actors really are a winning duo in this relatable, funny and moving portrayal of the realities of unexpected parenthood."
