The Tessuti store at 72-74 Merseyway is due to close soon.

Clothes chain Tessuti - which operates around 30 stores across the UK - was recently bought out by Frasers Plc in 2022.

Since then, closures were confirmed for around a third of Tessuti stores, including Ipswich, Warrington, Bury, Bolton, Blackburn, Speke, Bradford, Stoke-on-Trent, Tamworth and Birmingham, as well as Stockport.

An employee at the Stockport store suggested that the closures may be due to rents, confirming also that the closure had followed Frasers' purchase of Tessuti from JD last year.

Tessuti will not be relocating to anywhere else in Stockport - the nearest branch after the closure will be in the Manchester Arndale.
