Stretch of A555 closed due to flooding

The A555 between Stanley Green Park and Roy Chadwick Way is closed due to flooding.
It follows heavy rain throughout Tuesday (18 November).
Stockport Council has said the flooding was a result of damage caused by Storm Claudia.
In particular, they suspect a fallen tree caused a water channel to be diverted, causing the road to flood.
The road was closed around 5pm yesterday, with drivers reporting 'chaos' since then. Stockport Council has said it will provide an update today (Wednesday 19 November).
