Stockport's Merseyway shopping centre to introduce Shopmobility scheme

A Shopmobility service is returning to Stockport's Merseyway Centre.
The scheme will provide free access to mobility scooters and wheelchairs for shoppers, seven days a week.
It will be introduced from Monday 2 June.
Equipment will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
All equipment is fully insured, safe, and easy to operate, perfect for anyone needing a little extra support while navigating around the shopping centre.
The scheme is being funded by Stockport Council.

Cllr Mark Roberts, Leader of Stockport Council, said: "Ensuring that Stockport is an accessible and welcoming destination for everyone is really important and I'm pleased that we are bringing Shopmobility back to Merseyway, offering vital support for those who need it.
"With Stockroom opening on 24th May, we are transforming our town centre into a vibrant and inclusive place that meets the needs of all our residents and visitors."
Victoria Nichol, Centre Manager at Merseyway said: "We're delighted to welcome Shopmobility back to Merseyway.
"This service plays a vital role in making the centre more accessible for all, and we're proud to be working with Stockport Council to support our local community.
"Combined with our recent facilities improvements, it marks a significant step in making Merseyway a more inclusive place to shop, relax and connect."
