Stockport's Blossoms film new music video on 192 route
By Alasdair Perry 27th Aug 2026
Stockport's very own Blossoms have put their hometown in the limelight once again.
The Indie quintet have released a music video for their new song Additional Driver which was filmed on the 192 bus and its route from Manchester to Stockport.
The song - which also features Declan McKenna - tells the story of a journey gone wrong, concluding with the line "should have got the 192".
The video and the lyrics feature nods to the 192 route, which for decades has been the main transport link connecting Manchester with Stockport, Davenport, and Hazel Grove.
Lots of the shots were taken on the 192 itself, featuring the band and two decks' worth of passengers.
Ben Gamble, the Stagecoach driver who was behind the wheel while filming took place, said he 'really enjoyed' meeting the band.
"They are a really good bunch of lads, very polite and chatty, and it was a pleasure to drive them around while they filmed their music video", he said.
Transport for Greater Manchester's chief network officer Danny Vaughan added: "For many people across Greater Manchester, the 192 is more than a bus route, it's part of daily life and part of the story of growing up, working, studying and socialising in our city-region.
"It's brilliant to see a hometown band like Blossoms put the route centre stage and introduce it to audiences beyond Greater Manchester.
"Now we can say don't just take our word for it. Listen to the Blossoms and catch the 192!"
