Stockport's IKEA in the Merseyway centre to close

Stockport's branch of IKEA will be closing this June.
This 'plan and order point' is a smaller IKEA store which offers customers the chance to browse and order products, with less focus on buying and taking things home on the day.
The furniture giant's decision to close this branch comes after 'careful evaluation'.
IKEA said there was increased demand for click and collect services across its stores, which the Stockport plan and order point found it hard to offer due to the small space.
The decision comes just over two years after the Stockport IKEA opened, in March 2023.
The nearest local branch will now be in Ashton.
Salma Azad, IKEA Area Manager said: "After careful evaluation, we've made the difficult decision to close the IKEA Plan and Order Point at Merseyway Shopping Centre.
"In the two years since opening, we've taken valuable learnings, including how our customers prefer to meet IKEA, and we'll take these insights into future openings, to serve shoppers in a more impactful way.
"I want to sincerely thank all of the customers that have shopped with us in this time. IKEA Manchester, a store locals know and love, will continue to be the closest hub for home planning, meatballs and everything in between."
