Stockport's pubs have received glowing reviews from two of the UK's most dedicated pub-crawlers.

Nottinghamshire's Dale and Holly Harvey are the couple behind the 'Great British Pub Crawl' - it's a mission they set themselves of visiting every single pub across the UK.

They visited Stockport on Friday 27 December, sampling 23 pubs around Edgeley and the town centre in just one day - and they've promised to return at another stage to try the rest.

Almost all of the pubs which the couple visited received praise, both in a dedicated YouTube video chronicling the crawl, and in a write-up on social media.

Of the 23 visits, among the couple's highlights were The Wellington, which the pair said was 'all sorts of goodness'. Dale said on Facebook: "Three ales on offer and a cosy yet quirky ambience with some truly old time trinkets on display [...] I couldn't possibly love it any more..."

Also a hit was the new Holy Diver bar on Prince's Street. "We've visited A LOT of rock bars, and this is about as good as they get", the couple said.

The Petersgate Tap in the town centre was praised for its "belting craft beers, top service, and a welcoming environment", whilst The Magnet was said to have had "the biggest and best beer lineup of the night".
