Stockport's 10k Daffodil race to return this month
Stockport's 10k daffodil race will return on Sunday 26 January.
Open to runners of all abilities, this community-run race starts from Jackson Lane in Hazel Grove at 9.30am.
More than 1,000 runners are expected, as well as a range of spectators lining the route.
The route itself will be subject to rolling road blocks throughout the day - roads will re-open once all runners have passed through.
After starting on Jackson Lane at 9.30am, the race moves onto Woodford Road, then joins the path at the side of the A555 before moving onto the carriageway towards Fiveways.
Next, it turns around back towards the oil terminal roundabout, and ultimately back onto Woodford Road before finishing on Chester Road.
If you fancy taking part yourself, entries are still open. It's £21 for UK Athletics affiliated runners, or £23 for non-affiliated.

Included in the price is a pair of hilly socks, chip timing, bag storage (at Race HQ) and a bespoke medal. Finishers will also get a goody bag replete with treats.
And there's also £250 each up for grabs for the fastest male and female finisher.
Parking will be available at local schools - see the run's website for more information.
Now in its fourth year, the Daffodil 10k has proved consistently popular and has attracted runners from the local area and beyond.
Indeed, in previous years it has hosted a huge range of participants, from seasoned athletes through to racers in their 70s.
Dave, organiser and Sports Feet owner, explained how the race is designed to help the local community as much as possible.
Certainly, sponsors and other groups involved in the race are all local. For example, Complete Podiatry in Offerton have helped supply prizes, Buxton Water have helped with goody bags, and the local schools have supplied parking space.
See more details on the local sponsors and more on the Daffodil 10k website.
