Stockport woman sentenced to two years for supplying drugs

A woman from Stockport has been sentenced to 28 months in jail for supplying drugs.
22-year-old Kirsty Watson of Old Chapel Street had been supplying class A, B and C drugs in Northwich in Cheshire.
She was sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Friday 25 April.
She was caught by police on 27 November 2023, when officers noticed a car with a strong smell of cannabis.
Officers from Cheshire Police stopped the vehicle, and spoke with the driver - Watson - who handed over a small amount of cannabis.
When officers said they needed to search her vehicle, she resisted leaving the car. When police asked her why, she replied, 'because I sell weed'.
A large sandwich bag of cannabis was located, as well as 12 cannisters of nitrous oxide and a snapbag of cocaine.
The cannabis was worth between £830 and £970, the cocaine was valued at between £400 and £700 and the nitrous oxide at £50.
Watson's mobile phone was also seized which showed evidence of drugs supply in the Northwich area.
Police Constable Ed Whalley said: "Illegal drugs have a hugely detrimental impact, not just on users but also the wider public. Watson targeted Northwich, putting these substances onto the streets and causing harm to our communities.
"Now Watson has been given a custodial sentence for her involvement in supplying drugs, but our fight against illegal drugs is never over."
