The popular Stockport Trail half marathon event is set to return to Marple in February 2024.

The 13-mile run will begin at Wood Lane car park, and will continue along Middlewood Way, following a route along green space into High Lane, and ultimately into Cheshire East.

Given that the run will follow trails and tow-paths, no traffic management or road closures will be required.

The event is organised by Crazy Legs Events, and will be held on 25 February, between 9.30am-1.30pm. The entry fee to take part is £22 for affiliated UK runners and £24 for non-affiliated.

Councillors at the Marple Area Committee on 29 November unanimously agreed to allow the half marathon to take place.

400 spaces are available in the race, and no entries are allowed on the day. Find more information HERE.
