Stockroom - Stockport's new library and events space - is in the running for a prestigious award.
The building is one of seven which has been shortlisted in the Greater Manchester Building of the Year awards, run by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
The shortlist comprises 'landmark' buildings which have been deemed to improve the local economy, community, and urban landscape.
Stockroom, which opened in May 2025, will be up against other building projects across Greater Manchester.
The full shortlist is as follows:
- Ancoats Mobility Hub
- Campfield
- Civic
- No 3 Circle Square
- Oldham Old Library
- Power Hall
- Stockroom

The winner will be announced on 5 March in a ceremony at Manchester Hall.
Last year's winner was the Co-op Live Arena.
Diane Elebert-Morgan, property and construction group manager at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said the list showcases "the best that Greater Manchester has to offer".
"I don't think anywhere in the country outside of London could boast the same range and quality of new buildings as we have here", she added.
"Just making the shortlist is a huge accolade and I can't wait to see which one will be crowned Building of the Year."
Stockroom boasts an open plan layout, with a range of areas for socialising, quiet study, and everything in between.

It's accessible from two sides; from the Merseyway high street and from Great Underbank.
Downstairs is a cafe, an events space, the fiction section, and a children's area.
On the upper floor is the non-fiction section, the library archives, and another events space.
Stockport Council said that Stockroom has aimed to bring new life into previously disused retail units, and has helped to create a 'rejuvenated atmosphere' in the Merseyway.
