Police officers from the Stockport Neighbourhood Crime Team executed a warrant on the morning of Tuesday 26 March, in connection with a multi-million-pound burglary conspiracy.
Stockport officers joined forces with West Yorkshire police to execute a warrant in Halifax, as part of an ongoing investigation into a suspected organised crime group.
The group is believed to be linked to largescale commercial burglaries in the area.
A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and two counts of handling stolen goods. He remains in police custody for questioning.
It comes not long after a burglary at Cromer Street in Portwood, which took place in January. At the time, six were arrested on suspicion of burglary, and an investigation was immediately launched.
The six men have since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Constable Ian Wilkinson from Stockport's Neighbourhood Crime Team said: "The theft of industrial equipment and material is extremely expensive and disruptive to businesses, and we will continue to target anyone involved in this type of criminality.
"This operation is one of many we have across Stockport, dedicated to keeping our communities safe, and we will continue to work with our partners, the community, and neighbouring forces to achieve justice."
