Stockport man accused of conspiring with others to drug and rape his wife
By Alasdair Perry 29th Jun 2026
A Stockport man will face trial in September as part of a complex investigation into drug-fuelled sexual abuse.
The man - who is in his 60s but cannot be identified to protect the anonymity of his wife - is accused of conspiring with 12 other men to drug and rape his wife while she was unconscious.
The other men have been identified, with The Times having revealed that they include a CEO, football coach and paramedic.
Their ages range from 28 to 73. Most have been remanded in custody, although five are on bail.
The main suspect - the ex-husband from Stockport - was first arrested in October 2025.
He was charged with 48 offences, of which he has pleaded guilty to 15 and denies 33.
The other men are accused of either taking part in the abuse, or encouraging and facilitating it online.
Police are helping to provide the victim with specialist support.
They have also encouraged anybody who has concerns or information about the investigation to report it confidentially.
"You can contact us online or via 101 quoting reference 771 of 25/06/2026. Details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
"If you are concerned you or someone you know may be affected by drug-facilitated sexual abuse, please know that you do not need proof, certainty, or a clear memory to be taken seriously.
"You are not expected to understand exactly what has happened or who was involved in order to be taken seriously. If you feel that something has happened, then please ask for help.
"If you do choose to report: you do not need a full account or clear memory; you can share as much or as little as you feel able; you will be supported by trained officers; and your immediate safety and wellbeing will be the priority.
"You can also speak to a support organisation first and decide later whether to involve police."
