Police are investigating after bricks were reportedly thrown over a bridge onto the M60 in Stockport.
Greater Manchester Police say they are looking into three dangerous incidents which took place near Junction 1, which left three cars with smashed windscreens.
The first report came through around 7pm on Wednesday 24 June, when a taxi passenger reported that a brick was thrown from a bridge and through the windshield.
About 13 minutes later, police received another report about a dropped stone from the same bridge, resulting in another smashed windscreen.
Another driver nearby reported their window had been damaged in a similar way.
Although there were no injuries, officers said the incidents "could have had extremely serious consequences".
Police are now appealing for anybody with information to come forward.
"We are actively investigating and carrying out enquiries", they said.
"We are urging anyone who witnessed these incidents, saw suspicious behaviour on or near the bridge, or has dashcam footage from the area around this time to get in touch.
"Please contact us via 101, quoting the log 3612 of 24/06/26. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously via on 0800 555 111."
