Stockport's eastern policing team has moved into a new headquarters in Marple.

The team - which covers Marple, Romiley, Bredbury and Woodley - has moved into Hollins House.

It's a short stroll from their former base on Parkfield Avenue.

Chief Inspector Clare Ryle said the community can still expect 'excellent level of service', and said the team were 'pleased' to move into their new base.

The old station is being demolished to make way for the new Marple Community Hub.

Chief Inspector Ryle said: "We may be moving but the community can still expect the same excellent level of service from our neighbourhood officers.

"We work very closely with our partners at Stockport Council, and we are pleased to be based in the centre of their new hub for Marple

"If people come to us with information or concerns then we will investigate and, where appropriate, take action.

"Intelligence from the public is a vital tool in our fight against crime – people can also come up and speak to officers when we are out and about in the community.

"People can also contact GMP on 101 or via the reporting tools on our website, or by calling Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111. In an emergency, always call 999."

Councillor Helen Foster-Grime, cabinet member for Communities, Culture and Sport at Stockport Council, said: "The new Community Hub in Marple is set to be a fantastic development for local people and the surrounding area - creating a welcoming space at the heart of the community.

"The move of Greater Manchester Police into their new home at Hollins House is a key milestone, allowing us to push forward with the next phase of work.

"Crucially, it also ensures that a strong police presence remains in the area, offering reassurance and support to residents.

"We're building a Hub that will bring services together and make a real difference to people's lives, and we're excited to see it take shape."
