Visitors to Stockport town centre were treated to an appearance from Stockport County players last week.

On 30 July, Stockport County staff and squad members took to the Merseyway Centre in a 'community takeover'.

Visitors were able to meet squad members including Ben Osborn, Lewis Fiorini and Jack Diamond, and could also take part in a range of football-themed activities.

The event also showcased the work of the Stockport County Community Trust, the club's charitable arm. This included demonstrations of the Trust's programmes, coaching sessions, and more.

In particular, the event served to launch the Trust's 2026-30 strategy, which aims to further deliver lasting positive impact across the borough, through programmes, events and more.

A Trust spokesperson said: "The strategy builds on the progress that the Trust has made since its first strategy in 2023 and reinforces Stockport County's mission to keep community and education at the heart of the Club's long-term development.

"Hereby ensuring the Club's success is measured not only by achievements on the pitch, but by its lasting impact across the borough."
