Stockport County has delivered 12,311 free PE kits to children across Stockport.

It's part of a drive from the club to improve access to sport, by making sure all children at least have the kit to get started.

County has been delivering kits to schools around Stockport for the last three years as part of the 'Kits by County' scheme.

This year, first team players Adama Sidibeh and Brad Hills joined the Stockport Community Trust (the club's charitable arm) to help deliver some of the kits.

The pair called at Bridge Hall Primary School, and spent time speaking with pupils on the day.

More widely, this year of the campaign has seen a massive increase in the number of kits donated, up 72 percent on last year.

Teachers have reported improved attendance and more enthusiasm at PE lessons as a result of the scheme.

Stockport County CEO Gavin Bailey said: "It's a phenomenal achievement that the Community Trust and the club have managed to achieve over the last three years.

"We've supplied over 12,000 kits to schools locally, and that's really enabled children to have the opportunity to get into sport.

"We've got to thank all the fans; their contribution has come from every time they've bought a kit, a woolly hat, a scarf.

"Even on a matchday, whether that be some food and beverage purchases. I think Stockport County is great in that it's 90 minutes of football, but we also have to serve the area that we surround ourselves with.

"We want our fanbase and our local community to both be really proud of what Stockport County do."
